One of the easiest ways to find out a general idea of what your weight status is and
your body fat is by calculating your body mass index or your BMI, body mass index. It's a very easy
way to also identify weight categories that can end up leading to health risks for
So it's so easy that all you need to know is your height in meters and your body
mass in kilograms. And the formula is mass and kilograms divided by your height in
meters squared. And you're going to get numbers calculated or computed from this.
And these numbers all mean something.
Where we want to be is between 18.5 and 24.9 and this is considered the normal
zone. If you're under that number you're considered underweight. If you're above
this between 25 and 29.9 you're going to be considered overweight. Anything
above 29.9 you're in the obese zone.
So once you know your BMI you can start to determine on how much work you're
going to need to lose weight and what kind of workout program you're going to need
to get you back into that normal healthy zone
